today I saw a preteen girl pick up Mean Girls at Target and ask her friend what it was. She didn’t even know. She said it sounded dumb. The people are forgetting. The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it.
“So, what if, instead of thinking about solving your whole life, you just think about adding additional good things. One at a time. Just let your pile of good things grow.”—Attachments, Rainbow Rowell (via ha-n)
I think relationships in general are over romanticized like at the end of the day I’m pretty sure a good relationship is just two people who know how to hang out and talk to each other not whether or not they can right all your wrongs or paint a picture of a thousand suns with the breath from your lungs or some shit
“When David [Fincher] first called us about doing the title sequence he was still shooting in Sweden. It was a brief conversation and it was daunting. He said, “I wanna tell the whole story of all three books. I wanna do it in two and a half minutes and it has to be spectacular.” Next e-mail I get is just a list of words: “CG, very adult, super dark, leather, skin, blood, snow, breast, vaginas, needles, piercings, and motorcycles. And vengeance. Get back to me.” Throughout the process and actually through all the time that I’ve known him, he sends these little haiku-like e-mails. And he says, “Imagine a James Bond title sequence with a 20 year old bisexual cutter as a heroine and a buried story setting up the trilogy. Macabre, oblique, and yet…” And he expects you to fill in the blanks.”—Tim Miller (via saffrondawn)
